Twenty-One

It is hard to believe that my second born is 21.....for heavens sake where has the time gone? It seems like last week that I was knee deep in little kids.....oh wait that was last week...I mean it seems like last week that I was knee deep with my own little kids. How did they grow up so fast and who gave permission for it to happen?

Avery is my first that I have gotten to celebrate his 21st birthday with. Dyllon was on his mission but I lucked out with the missionary age change so I get to celebrate with him. We're are going to eat cake later today...yay!!!!
Avery was the cutest baby...if I could find the picture I would post it. He had thick black hair that stood straight up...he looked like a little monchichi. Remember those???
This boy did not get to be a baby for long because his sister over took his position when he was 13 months old. He grew up way to fast. He had a second set of church parents that took care of him in sacrament meeting because Barbee's took pity on use that we were out numbered. They even brought a bag for him....His best friend was a 25 year old when he was 2.
Boy did this boy love his blankie....my sister made it for her future kids but made the mistake of wrapping him up in it everyday. When she tried to take it from him...I had to put my foot down...life would have been miserable without it.
Avery went from jet black hair to a toe head. He has always been a easy going kid and has just went with whatever...
Poor boy had to suffer with the bowl cut for a few years of his life. I liked the look but when ever they look back on photos they just laugh.
Avery has always been a fun loving, goofball free spirit. I love that about him. He is such a tease. Just so you know...you should never believe the first words that come out of his mouth.
This boy is heading out to USU Eastern in just a few days. I am sure gonna miss him.
Happy 21st birthday Avery. Thanks for choosing me to be your mom.

  1. I can't believe he is that old. Where did the time go? I'm so glad I read your blog post but my kids are so confused. We're really just grumpy old parents these days.
